Overview
The M-7 Rockford Reconstruction Project at I-90 and US Hwy 20 consisted of constructing a new single-story, 60,000-square-foot building that now serves as the fleet hub, vehicle parking, maintenance garage, and Illinois State Police Office. The Office houses the State Highway Patrol headquarters with an independent State Highway Patrol facility, Tollway driver support personnel, locker rooms, and a break/small assembly area for daily and emergency storm logistic briefings. The project included the construction of an independent truck wash station and fuel island, constructing an information technology equipment shelter, and transferring network service from the existing building. The scope of work also consisted of removing and replacing all utilities, including sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water, electric, site lighting, gas, telephone, and fiber optic lines.
JWI provided Phase III Construction Management Services as a sub-consultant to Ardmore & Associates. JWI managed field inspection and documentation, performed required audits of CM team documentation, and assisted Ardmore engineers with Tollway documentation.
